한국교통자산운용(KOTAM)은 자사의 국내 항공기 리스 펀드가 영국계 항공금융 전문지 `에어라인 이코노믹스`에서 선정한 항공기 금융 분야 ‘올해의 딜’(DEAL OF THE YEAR)로 선정됐다고 22일 밝혔다.

해당 펀드는 A320과 보잉737 등 내로우 바디 5대를 영국항공BA 계열사와 말레이시아 국영 항공, 가루다 인도네시아, 제주항공 등에 임차하는 원화 가치 2000억 원 규모의 펀드이다.

한국교통자산운용은 “국내 항공기 펀드가 글로벌 콘퍼런스에서 수상을 한 것은 처음”이라며 “한국 자산운용사가 해외 리스업체를 통하지 않고 직접 아일랜드에 항공기 리스 법인을 세워 수익성이 좋은 내로우 바디 만으로 펀드를 조성한 점이 선정 이유”이라고 밝혔다.

한국교통자산운용은 국제선박투자운용 KMARIN과 KEB하나은행의 합작 회사다. 선정 펀드에는 현대해상과 IBK연금보험, 고용노동부가 투자했다. 해외 BNP 파리바와 스탠다드차터드 은행, 국내의 NH 농협과 KEB하나은행 등도 참여했다.

한국교통자산운용 KOTAM의 모회사 국제선박투자운용 KMARIN은 LNG선과 탱커 등 선박 70여 척을 보유한 선박펀드 전문 운용사이다. 브라질의 발레, 영국의 브리티시 페트롤리엄 BP, 머스크 라인 등을 화주로 둔 선박펀드를 운용하고 있고, 운용 자산은 원화 가치 5조원 규모다.

Korea Transportation Asset Management (KOTAM) announced on the 22nd that its domestic aircraft leasing fund has been selected as the'DEAL OF THE YEAR' in the aircraft finance sector selected by the British aviation finance magazine'Airline Economics'.

The fund is a 200 billion won worth of won that leases five narrow bodies, including the A320 and Boeing 737, to British Airways BA affiliates, Malaysian national airlines, Garuda Indonesia, and Jeju Air.

“It is the first time that a domestic aircraft fund has won a global conference,” said Korea Transport Asset Management. “The fact that a Korean asset management company established an aircraft leasing corporation in Ireland directly without going through an overseas leasing company has created a fund with only a profitable narrow body. The reason for the selection,” he said.

Korea Transportation Asset Management is a joint venture between KMARIN, an international ship investment management company, and KEB Hana Bank. The selected fund was invested by Hyundai Marine and IBK Pension Insurance and the Ministry of Employment and Labor. Overseas BNP Paribas and Standard Chartered Bank, domestic NH Nonghyup and KEB Hana Bank also participated.

KMARIN, the parent company of Korea Transportation Asset Management KOTAM, is an international ship investment management company specializing in ship fund management with more than 70 ships including LNG carriers and tankers. It operates a ship fund with shippers such as Valle in Brazil, British Petroleum BP in UK, and Musk Line, and its assets are worth KRW 5 trillion.
